After doing yoga on and off with DVD’s at home a friend took Ruth to a real yoga class
and there she found the beauty in yoga and how it made her feel.
After receiving a Level One YogaFit certificate, Ruth completed her 200 hour Yoga
Teacher Training and continued on to complete her 500 hour certification with Always-
at-Aum Yoga School. She fell in love with restorative yoga and received her Relax and
Renew Trainer Certification from Judith Hanson Lasater. In addition to Vinyasa yoga,
she teaches Gentle, Restorative, and Chair Yoga. Her intention is to make yoga
accessible to everyone. It is something she cares about and believes in and continues
to further her knowledge in the practice of yoga.
Sharyn recently retired after working for 46 years as a registered nurse. She has been a Silver Sneakers instructor for 3 years and is certified in Silver Sneakers Classic and Silver Sneakers Yoga.
“ I enjoy doing the fitness classes and the yoga class very much. I am always amazed on how dedicated the participants are in each class. They prove to me every time I teach that no matter what age you are, you must never stop moving.”
After a career in healthcare and education, yoga found me. At the suggestion of a friend, I attended her first yoga class. The energy and power of the poses and the freedom on the mat were overwhelmingly engaging. I completed my 200 hour yoga training at Live in Joy Yoga and Wellness in Audubon, NJ and am a registered yoga teacher with Yoga Alliance. I have complimented my practice with advanced training in children’s, restorative and chair yoga. Trained in Ayurvedic principles, my practice is based on the coexistence of yoga and Ayurveda. I plan practices that derive from the traditions of both yoga and ayurveda, with postures that apply to individual constitutions and environmental impacts.
I am humbled to share my practice and training with new as well as practicing yogis. I strive to make yoga accessible to all participants, as yoga can be enjoyed as a source of increased harmony and balance to mind, body and spirit throughout one’s life.
A native of the area, I recently returned from a career away to reconnect and renew old friendships and forge new relationships in the place I call home with my husband and elderly toy poodle, Ginger.
